The Story
About me
My hometown
I was born in China in 1984 in the city of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. I stayed there until I finished senior high school. Ningbo my hometown has the busiest port (Zhoushan port) in the world in terms of cargo tonnage; Ningbo is known as a business and entrepreneurship town, from which I got the spirit to start my own "Chinese Learning" site. Ningbo is also a city with a long history (it owns the first ancient Chinese library) and modern development (it has the highest shopping-center density). The city is famous for seafood because it's near the East Sea China, and people are kind and diligent, which applies to me as well :-).​
My Education
​My education in China is very solid and constructive. I was enrolled in the best universities in China for my Bachelor's and Master's studies, Beijing Forestry University and Chinese Academy of Medical Science accordingly; after graduation, I worked in the Chinese Academy of Science.
In 2011, I traveled together with my husband to the Netherlands for PhD study and now we have 2 nice kids and we are very well integrated into the Western culture. I have also a lot of international friends, I obtained in-depth relationships in the community where I live.
The viewing and food in China is my favoriate things; i wish to give you more introduction on the tour and taste of China!
Teaching Experience
Since 2017, I have been giving Chinese lessons (private and group lessons).
I have also been leading workshops for children and adults who are interested in Chinese language and culture.
During these years of practice, my passion for Chinese teaching and Chinese culture branding has been explored and leveraged.
In 2024, I achieved the prestigious 'Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages', which shows I am committed and can officially teach Chinese to non-native Chinese speakers.
